    • Jeep prices the 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk at $85,900 MSRP

Over $85k for a Jeep is a lot of money but this is not just any Jeep. This is the firebreathing 707 horsepower supercharged 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. It is expected to be the king of performance sport utility vehicles.

Right now the king is the BMW F85 X5 M which happens to start at $100,700. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S runs $109,700. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S starts at $161k. What about the Bentley Bentayga? A cool $229k and up with options.

Suddenly the Jeep doesn't look so bad, right? Especially when you consider it offers more power than any of its competition at 707 supercharged horsepower from a 6.2 liter V8. It has the most power and offers the biggest motor. That sure makes it a performance value in the segment.

Regarding performance, nothing is going to challenge the Jeep Trackhawk. FCA claims an 11.6 second 1/4 mile sprint and that should be comfortably exceeded. We're talking a 10 second SUV here with just a tune.

Which begs the question, how well will the all wheel drive system cope with all that twin screw torque? I guess we're going to find out.

The 11.6 time is making me think there might be some big torque limitations in the lower gears.

Nah. Just a factory quote. No timeslip or anything.

I think the Bentley Bentayga currently holds the throne for stock SUV acceleration. Motortrend tested it at 11.9 @ 117 MPH which gives it a healthy lead over the X5M fastest stock magazine test of 12.2 @ 114 MPH. I'm sure the X5M handles much better but the Bentley looks like the fastest in a straight line if you don't include the Model X P100

True the Bentayga just edges but it is heavier and not as good of an all around performer. It is the straightline king though. Barely.
